Singapore :) (sábado, 29 de diciembre de 2007),

I'm back from youth camp :) Okay la actually back from singapore, but whatevs. It was at jalan lekar in choa chu kang on some old farm compound this time. You could get warm water in the bathrooms!!!! Cassandra was in my group (the MAURIs)!
I didn't really learn much this camp though. Mostly cos I was really tired and sleepy during lessons, bnut also cos it was kinda aimed at encouraging youth to start participating in mission trips, and since I live in 'Nam/wouldn't mind going on a mission trip anyway, I didn't come awayt with alot! ><
I stuck to cassandra and vanessa mak mostly this time. I talked to everyone and all, but I was closest to them. And I was quiet and on autopilot alot of the time haha.
THEY BROUGHT SKITS BACK YAYYYY! We didn't win this time though. I'm a little disappointed that my winning streak is finally over :('Tis quite amusing how johnston told me joanne had told him our group's skit really wasn't very good and then once I arrivedon the 2nd day, that things were going to change. My group had made an attempt at a script before I came, but I kind of changed everything once I settled in haha (for the better, everyone agrees ><). I was unofficial director and scriptperson and narrator this time!
So there were around 4 scenes.

Scene 1 was at the hog's head bar in hogsmeade at a hogwarts party. I introduced ron (*VOMIT* who drinks so much butterbeer his hair turned black ), then harry (after his tragic broomstick accident in '98, he lost his wand arm and took to the bottle), hermione (who still hasn't gotten over her breakup with ron *slams fist on table, points to ron and makes a slitting motion over her throat), hagrid (who drank so much he shrank; we used a little guy), a random barguy (every fight is a good fight when you're a cannibal!), the barmaid, and the phantom of the opera aka thimmy ('you can see what drinking has done to him' directed at his wailing of christine). Cassandra (christine) skips in and asks ron where the phantom is. He vomits again and points to him. She pulls him out of the bar by the ear when she sees him drinking butterbeer (I just got back from churchcamp and I've something important to tell you!).

Scene 2 was at the opera. Christine and the phantom have a heart-to-heart (you mean even if I look like THIS? *ph34r*) and she converts him.

Scene 3 is at church. Christine introduces the phantom to the minister (jeremiah), who baptises him (you need to take off your mask. *grab* GAHHH *dunk*). He comes out skipping and happy and they go back to the hog's head to convert the phantom's drinking buddies.

Scene 4 is back at the hog's head bar. Christine and the phantom "manage to convert them after a couple hours, and they go to the church to get baptised". Basil introduces skyjuice as a substitute for butterbeer: clinically proven to be no better than water.
The phantom: I think this will help. *REVEALS GRUESOME FACE TO HARRY, who then sobers up*

Scene 5: back in church. The minister baptises the main characters in turn; first harry (whose arm miraculously grows back), then ron (whose hair turns red once again), then hermione ("I forgive you ron!" *they link arms and skip off. except in the real thing they awkwardly held their arms out as if expecting to hug, but didn't -_-'*). Christine then announces she "feels like singing a song", cue our portable ipod speakers playing that iconic phantom of the opera song. Cassandra and timmy sing along for real. CASSANDRA HIT THE HIGH C OMG! Jeremiah and four other group members are backup dancers. Jeremiah has the coolest moves la hahaha. Like that butterfingers near your head with opposite hands thing. And his make like a tree one.
At the last high C scream christine makes, the phantom reveals his disfigurement once again to her hahah. All the backup dancers fall to the ground like they've been shocked into fainting.
After the song is over christine declares they shall go forth and spread the gospel amongst the nations. The phantom pipes up that he'll help convert people, and if they don't agree, *REVEALS HIDEOUS FACE*

Okay lah okay lah that's more than 4 scenes >< But then I've never been very good at maths, have I! I count myself lucky I was only off by ONE.
On the last night I got a chance to properly talk to hannah and chenting about what's happening for us now. I do believe this would be the first time hannah and I have ever really connected! I also got to level 35 in the expert category ^^ of geraldine's cool RushHour car puzzle game :))) OH AND. Vanessa, hannah and I were talking about school songs, and hannah's primary school song was to the tune of that Marching Onward to Zion song, but in chinese haha. Hannah told us the chorus wasn't 'piao liang piao liang pei hwa' HAHAHAHAH. So vanessa and I made up coolio lyrics for her!

The chinese one goes like this:
wo men san bu dao pei hwa
piao liang piao liang pei hwa
wo men shang bu jiang xing pei hwa
na ge piao liang cheng shi of pei.

And the english one is:
We're marching to peihwa
beautiful, beautiful peihwa
we're marching onward to peihwa
the beautiful city of pei.

Haha! I am aware that san bu means jogging. It's just, I've forgotten the word for marching that angelin told us. And I'm not sure about jiang xing and cheng shi? I can't remember exactly what vanessa said city and onward were. Vanessa sings the english one with really cute enunciation hahaa.

Oh christmas was quite fun. Adrian, karen and I met in the morning and watched some mummy show at the omnitheatre in the science centre. 'Twas pretty interesting! Haha while we were walking around adrian kept pushing on glass doors that wouldn't budge. And I'd just like push the left door and it would swing open.
Karen had to go off at 3, so adrian and I went to jelita's and hung around cold storage awhile before going to the yanghouse.
We hung around there till about 7, before taking a bus to town and then to the esplanade for karen's bell thing. We left during it to eat stuff at makan sutra (headscrubbing), then sat down at the water's edge and took lots of coolio pictures!

The chia-ren festbonanzagalaextravaganzaboom! 07 was pretty good. I met carren and meixuan in the morning, then we went to carren's house to look for the pointer she gave me at last year's chiaren fest. Meixuan and I dressed up in carren's old school u and pretended to be crescentians hahha. I went around shouting, DETENTION! even though councillors only get to hand out demerits, not detentions (even the vice-president):.
We met nick in wisma afterwards, and ate orange julius hotdogs in taka.
For dinner meixuan, carren and I went to cityhall and ate at the foodcourt.
Hannah joined us later and carren helped us find victoria concert hall for darryl's wind orchestra thing. Though she didn't really know where it was haha! She led us in the opposite direction for awhile, in fact -_-'
But hannah and I managed to only miss one song :) I liked peterloo overture the best. And karen was wrong, there ARE cute guys in rj! Though maybe she just has even higher boy standards than I do. Which would explain her lack of boyfriends despite her blatant good looks. We also bumped into michelle, who was taking photos of coda3 as a favour to darryl! :)
Then we ate supper at makan sutra round the esplanade (AGAIN). Vincent is, dare I say, rachel's best boyfriend yet. He's not abusive or anything! And he's kinda cute and lean :) I really hope they stay together cos I don't want to have to stop hanging out with him just because they break up and I'm rachel's friend.

On the 30th, we had lunch at cafe cartel. Marcus and I shared those scrump-diddly-umptious st louis ribs! I would postulate cafe cartel is my new favourite ribs place, even better than tony roma's and that TASTY TEXAS RIBS place in 'nam.
Rachel had to leave to see her passing grandma at a hospice and michelle had to go to a musuem, so the rest of us walked to the cathay cineplex and watched mtv in ben&jerry's while I ate two scoops of ice-cream. Valmond's such a buaya hahahha. Karen doesn't like his lack of much of a neck, but he's quite fine anyway methinks. That's what karen fixates on apparently; necks (which I think is stranger than MY fixation with noses).
After that valmond left so we went to the yanghouse and watched stardust. It really WAS quite a good movie!!! Tristran thorn's dad as a young man was cuteee. I liked how the star's hair glowed based on her moods. I wish I had hair like that! Karen came after the movie and we had dinner with the yang's dad at an indian food place near beauty world. Then we went back and took lots of coolio pictures on marcus' iphoto hahaha. We tried to do symmetrical shots! And I was going to lick myself hahah. Then adrian and I stayed over once again.

The next day I took a bath and went home and changed and went to jec and got a haircut at some place hannah recommended! It really isn't too bad, just abit short. It's neater-looking everyone tells me. They like it! Well except for karen, who was like noooooooo when she saw cos before she had told me to layer the top and take off only abit of the sides or something.
Then I met my siblings at the tony roma's near forum galleria for a belated xmas dinner! We had ribs and everythinggggg. Then I hung out with my sister till around ten. We went to kino and looked at sat guides, cos RISD/ the Cooper Union/ Parsons requires Sat1 scores.
At around ten my sister left for sentosa and I met the yangs, adrian and karen at coffee bean. We sat around reading aloud chinese magazines hahah.
Then we took 106 to karen's house. The new year passed on the bus! AGAIN!!! And we were going towards karen's house AGAIN!!! And I have a sneaking suspicion we were even on 106 last time hahaha. I'll go check. WTF we WERE on a 106 hahahahaha! So anyway, karen's house. We drew on her balcony door again (her evil maid rubbed away my cool fishman a week before or something): and lay on her bed/her. After awhile darryl joined us at the playground near their houses. Then we went to darryl's house! I finally got to read the hellgate: london graphic novel. Then darryl drove us home at around four I think :) He's such a nice guy la seriously.
