"I don't do cakes, okay? I don't bake 'em, and I don't jump out of 'em!" - Shego (The Big Job) Season 4

School's heating up. The EOYs are next week, my world lit 1 is due on my birthday, and I have a business IA action plan and EE research plan due by the end of school.
I just presented my IOP today though, thank the heavens, so that's something to strike off my list. My life is such a comedy. On my first slide, I realised I had the wrong version of my powerpoint on, and was like, "OH WAIT! THIS IS THE WRONG PRESENTATION!" And afterwards, when I changed it and started again, I was all, "How does Gilea-- Wait, will all that detract from my time?" I could not keep the entertainment out of the rest of my presentation, either.
Now normally, I'd love to be funny. But that little mistake at the beginning of my presentation docked marks from my tone/register aspect :( Mr Dave even mentioned to the class afterwards that their duty as an audience was to help the presenter as best they could, and maintaining a slightly amused tone makes it harder for the presenter to keep an appropriate register throughout the presentation. DANG IT! Worse still, I had practised like three times with nishiki before and was resolved to sound all professional and cool. Mannnnnnn. Nevermind, I think the IOPs are only about 10 or 15% of my english a1 IA. Or something. I still have my IOC and world lits.

Nishikishika's the phumybuddy I'm closest to :) She's also my, like, study buddy. We take the exact same subjects at the exact same levels!!! AND she also does kickboxing, after which, we go to evita's and revise bio. SO USEFUL! PLUS we talk like reeaaaallllyyyy easily about a plethora of different subjects. And we share the same views.
Hanh's my favouritest pmbuddy though. She's all small and cute and cuddly and adorable ahahha! Can't stand it :)))) Geez I just realised, I make her sound like a stuffed toy ahah.

Ah, so, the senior formal was last friday. 'Twas pretty fun. The koreans minus suyeon went to seolye's house for prepping. I was pretty! :)
the buffet was FANTABULOUS. So much so that I actually ate two plates plus desert! There was sushi and naan and siewmai and ribeye and all sortsa things. Yummers! Even thinking about it now kinda gets me salivating.
And you know what I realised, after seeing everyone in dresses/suits? ROSA HAS A BANGIN' BODY :) When I saw her I was like, DAYUMMMMM hahah. She has an hourglass figure! Or maybe her dress just did a good job of accentuating her figure. I'd be jealous, but I'm still reeling from the curves. Oh wait... okay yes I am totally jellin' ahah! It's funny though; you don't really notice her body during school 'cause our school blouse, while rather fitted and cropped by S'pore standards, kinda just falls off from her ribs to her hips, eliminating her teensy waist.
We paid bounce and lush and se7en visits afterwards, though not for long. And I finally did my first angmoh air/cheek kiss greeting/goodbye ahah yayyy. With some dude in yr11.
And then I slept over at da eun's.

Oh, I'll be in Singapore on the 28th for about a month, so meet up with me meixuan/chenting/whoever else reads my shiznit!

kigo all the way, baby (domingo, 18 de mayo de 2008),

Okay the matching of Shego and Drakken at Graduation is SO OBVIOUSLY FORCED. I mean, COME ON. What are the odds that any kind of Shego-Drakken hinting only occurs in the LAST EPISODE OF THE SERIES? That was a cop-out, plain and simple. Though I guess I should be thankful they only put the hints in the last episode; by not actually portaying the Shego-Drakken lovin', I can still pretend it ain't canon. After all, it can be assumed they never got together/broke up afterwards.

The eoys are coming the eoys are coming I am so dead! There's SO much to do for bio and nishiki and I have only started revising together now. And then there's all the BUSINESS to mug for. Ngah!

Stuff to do (in order of descending need):
bio and business revising
homework
world lit 1 fixing
IOP fixing
Extended essay planning
dream storyboarding

Senior formal's next weekend though, so that should be good. The buffets at sheraton are generally scrum-diddly-uptious!

Soooo I think I have to do TOEFL. Such a waste of money! We all know me speeks gud! Pretty much my whole list of american unis require it for international students, though. Though that info's from college board, and I don't know if it's completely accurate; maybe my being a native english speaker counts for something. Since, you know, I'm Singaporean and all. I'm sure the world's got us pegged as english speakers (albeit bad ones).

I am at a crossroads! I have, after much deliberation, decided on either Illustration or Game Design & Development for my major. Unfortunately, all the unis on my list offer one or the other. I can't find anyplace that offers both! :( What to do what to do what to do. And worse, I think only one of the unis of my list (Pratt Institute) offers illus. HOW!

AND ostensibly the SATs aren't offered in 'Nam for the rest of the year. HOWWWW!!!! Most of the unis I'm gunning for require results by january or february next year for fall.
I'm not too worried about the whole scoring business though. I just took a practice test and I got 1980, so I think for the real thing I'll probably do >1900 lah. Depending on my essay score. The rest of it seems rather fine. And judging by the ranges my uni list displayed on their profiles on college board, all I need to do is get at least 650 for all 3 parts. So no worries! Lucky my parents aren't the 'GET >2200 OR BE THE SHAME OF THE FAMILY' sort, hee hee! Things to work on:
section 1 (essay)
vocab
graphs
functions
algebra

...I guess worse comes to worst I'll go OCAD. Or... I guess there's always Singapore's... fantastic... art education. I just hope it doesn't come to that. :(

I watch you sleep, you look so peaceful (lunes, 12 de mayo de 2008),

Well, darn, who would've thought stretched and framed canvasses were sold for so cheap in 'Nam? I mean, 70thou for 68x60?! That's... that's shocking, it is! Saigon comes through for me once again. :)
And it's nice to know that khanhche and nishika are comfortable enough with me to lean on my shoulder. :)

During the weekend, I had two strange dreams. Their undead content would almost lead me to classify them nightmares, but they weren't really... the run-away-screaming-and-crying kind of nightmares I'm accustomed to.

In the first one, humanity had somehow been reduced to living in energy-domed cities, outside of which zombies roamed. The person I was in seemed like a very cheeky person, sneaking in and out of the domes at her whim, wandering around the city ruins.
So at one point, I heard crying, and, going to investigate the disturbance, found a baby nestled in straw in a box of some sort, wailing it's head off. Then this oldish man startled me, and started telling me how he had somehow managed to raise the baby and his 'kids' up outside of a dome. Cue gesturing to a whole bunch of kids of differing ages, all with zombie eyes.
So at first I'm sympathetic. I find him heroic. Then, for some reason, he attempts to sexually assault me, grabbing my wrists and pushing me down with a mad glint in his eye and crazy mutterings on his lips. But then, using my trusty pipboy 3000-esque arm device, I shoo him away with a blast to the chest, and run off.

Then I woke up, and it was eight in the morning, and I still felt like sleeping. So I lay back down, and...

The second dream was slightly different. This one seemed to predate the first one, and I was myself in it. The details of this one have mostly eluded me, save for the fact that the city was quarantined, and my family and I had escaped, but on some traintracks, I told my mother I had to go back (while my sister was standing there a short distance away). And I told them it wasn't safe to return home (which was an apartment in the countryside), since the zombies would be trawling there next. Then I snuck back into the city, and that's all I remember.

First, let me point out how unusual this is. I mean, I have dreams all the time that I want to record, but I seldom remember them for long after I get out of bed. So why is it these two are so vivid? Even now, three to four days after the actual dreaming, I can recall little details and scenes here and there.
So I decided to make use of the dreams! I am currently in the storyboard stages of depicting the first dream in a comic, and though I know I have a horrible track record with finishing stuff, I do believe this time will be different. This dream is way too interesting not to be shared!

Y'know, it really annoys me that Felix cut the strings of the school's guitar that I left in the common room and now can't be bothered to replace them. Like wtp dude, if you're going to ruin something, ruin your own stuff! The school only has, what, 4 guitars, and the one whose strings you cut was one of the less lousy ones.
Let's hope this comes back and bites him in the ass one day. :)

y voy a beber su sangre (viernes, 2 de mayo de 2008),

So, we've finally gotten down to conjugating past tenses for español. Whoever said spanish was easy was wrong :( unless they're talking about it in relation to french. Then it becomes slightly easier.
Though now I appreciate how, in chinese, we don't have to conjugate anything! It's all actually quite simple and everything. It's just all those darn words you have to remember. Like peng bo! Though I can't actually remember what peng bo is, or how to write it, only that it was one of, say, 16 words I had to learn in sec1 out of a chapter for tingxie.

Novel tunes keep popping up in my head! So far I've had about, um, 4 or 5 epiphanies. Though I stupidly stupidly lost the first 3 by either not writing them down, or writing them down but only the notes and not each individual note, or not checking the tuning and ending up writing C for notes that really aren't Cs. On monday when school restarts I'm going to get bryan (or any other music student) to show me how the music transcribing software in the music lab works so I can hear my stuff without having to pull out my guitar :)

My hair really really REALLY curls up in the mornings. Whenever I go brush my teeth for school, it looks about as curly as katrina's hair! And let me tell you, katrina's hair on me is not as attractive as it sounds hahaha.

Oh so did anyone hear? Ms namiko chan, our art teacher of two years in tanglin, has finally made it into the big time :) There was an article (or several) in the straits times and everything. She won some competition and got enough monies to start painting fulltime! I salute her. And I hope I get that lucky, too, when my time comes.
